Originally a road going car until the early 2000’s when a full conversion to race car specification was performed to compete in the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) Roadsports category, this beautiful Marcos 1600 was campaigned with some success by Bill Smith at British circuits from 2007 – 2014. Since then, the car has mostly appeared at Marcos Owners sprint events but is still road registered and sold with a current MOT.
Recent upgrades include new seat belts, fire extinguishing system and oil catch tank to ensure compliance with current motorsport regulations. The car is eligible for a wide range of events including sprints, hillclimbs and HSCC Roadsports races.
This Marcos offers a great opportunity for an easy and relatively low cost entry into the world of historic motorsport, however would be equally adept as being a ‘fast road’ classic car with minor modifications. The majority of trim panels and original parts are included in the sale along with various spares and a box file containing significant history.
In addition to the above parts, the car is to be sold with a 4 axle Brian James Minno trailer that has been recently serviced and fitted with new tyres.
Also available at additional costs is the opportunity for trackside support, storage and transport for this Marcos, run by ourselves at Redline Sportscars, providing an arrive and drive package.
