1965 Marcos 1800GT Coupe

Metallic Blue
6,300 Miles
1800cc Volvo B18
4-Speed Manual with Overdrive
Right-Hand Drive
A lovely example of the original wood-chassis ‘GT’ shape, this 1965 1800GT sports beautiful metallic blue paintwork and sits on genuine knock-on minilite wheels. Though not perfect cosmetically, the car presents well and retains the desirable ‘shark-tooth’ bumpers and unique six light set-up at the rear. On the inside, a medium grey interior is complimented by full set of Smiths white over black gauges and a modern radio head-unit.
This is a useable example that drives incredibly well for its age. The B18 engine is fed by a pair of Weber 45 DCOE carburettors which, in combination with an electronic ignition module and uprated aluminium radiator, make it a wonderfully useable classic that can keep up with modern traffic. Functioning over-drive and a removeable sun-roof panel (which can be stowed neatly in the boot) further enhance the car’s long-range capabilities.
Underneath, the chassis is in good-condition, the whole car benefiting from a partial restoration in 2009 and extensive documented work since. This 1800 still has its De-Dion rear axle and although the suspension is not cosmetically perfect, it performs well on the road.
In addition to the above drivetrain modifications, this 1800 features a number of desirable upgrades: adjustable Protech shock absorbers, 4-pot brake calipers, an aluminium fuel tank and a full-size spare wheel.
