Redline Sportscars is advertising this beautifully restored 1966 Marcos 1600 GT on behalf of its owner.

Finished in metallic gold with black stripes, the car has undergone a comprehensive restoration, with extensive work to the wooden chassis, bodywork, mechanical components and interior. The paintwork is in immaculate condition, complemented by silver eight-spoke alloy wheels.

The history file documents substantial work by Marcos Heritage, including replacement floors, sill sections, boot floor and undertray, together with a new front subframe. Further mechanical work covered the rear axle, steering, cooling system, carburettors and engine and gearbox seals.

Extensive fibreglass repairs and panel alignment were followed by a full repaint, completed in 2024. Restoration photographs and accompanying invoices provide a detailed record of the work undertaken.

Inside, new black interior trim and carpets sit alongside the wood dashboard and a modern motorsport Alcantara steering wheel. Harnesses are fitted, together with a bolt-in roll cage with door bars, giving the cabin a purposeful sporting feel.

Powered by a Ford Kent crossflow engine, the car is on the button and ready to enjoy. A striking example of the early wooden-chassis Marcos GT, benefiting from considerable investment throughout.
