1993 MARCOS MANTULA SPYDER
One of the last Mantulas produced, this 1993 soft-top example has come to us from long-term ownership and is accompanied by an excellent history folder. A ‘last of the line’ chassis, this Mantula benefits from a host of features fitted to later models: fully independent rear suspension, low profile oil sump, brake servo, improved door handles, larger bumpers, and an OE boot spoiler.
A Rover 3.5-litre V8 mated to a 5-speed LT77 gearbox provides a relaxing driving experience with torque to spare and an intoxicating sound. The twin Zenith Stromberg carburettors are reliable and provide almost modern usability with classic looks. The rest of the engine bay presents extremely well, having been subjected to regular cleaning and a number of small yet significant upgrades by the owner.
Maroon paintwork, in good condition and embellished with rare body-colour bumpers, sits on OE Compomotive wheels. Individual LED lights adorn the rear panel instead of the original rectangular lights, modernising the car’s look while maintaining the original lines.
This Mantula features unusual rose vinyl, black carpets, and a new Burr Elm dashboard. As with the exterior, the majority of the interior trim is in good condition, especially the boot area, which is well-trimmed and has a custom storage compartment beneath the fuel tank.
This Mantula comes with Marcos’ staple features, including a manually adjustable pedal carriage, electric windows, a heated windscreen, and a radio.
